Welcome to WILDESCAPE EU: Connecting Nature and Eco-Tourism in Europe

Resources

Transnational Report:

The data collected from questionnaires and focus group discussions in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Cyprus, and Ireland has been synthesized and analysed to generate actionable insights. The final research report provides a comprehensive understanding of the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities faced by the target groups (TGs).

Training Curriculum:

The project focuses on developing a comprehensive training curriculum aimed at promoting capacity building among educators and professionals. This curriculum is specifically customised to address essential areas for the sustainable management of biodiversity conservation and ecotourism. It is meticulously structured into modules and designed based on insights gathered for the transnational report, as well as the unique needs identified for stakeholders involved in biodiversity conservation and ecotourism efforts.

Policy Recommendations

These recommendations are carefully developed based on insights gained from a collaborative activity in which youth tourism agents from six different countries co-create innovative and tailored sustainable tourism packages for their respective areas. By using the diverse perspectives and expertise of the participants, the project aims to generate actionable policy guidance that addresses the complex challenges facing the tourism industry while promoting environmental conservation, community empowerment, and responsible tourism practices.

eLearning Platform:

Features a forum facilitating interactive discussions, enabling participants to connect and share their experiences. Each curriculum module includes a modular course that allows participants to earn micro-credentials upon completion. Additionally, there are at least two educational games per module to reinforce key concepts. Each module  also contains at least one video from external resources. Participants  have access to a resource library for further exploration of additional materials. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive certificates as micro-credentials, demonstrating their proficiency in the respective areas of study.
